My Creative Time: To Die For: Triangle Christmas In July Treat Boxes

Hi, today is To Die For over on the My Creative Time Blog. We are showing you new ways to use your dies. I was inspired by these triangle boxes I saw on Pinterest and wanted to see if I could create them with the Stitched Favor Box Die. I know it's mid summer but I wanted to do a little bit of a Christmas in July project.

Below are the instructions for creating the treat boxes using the Stitched Favor Box Die. I just love how they turned out! I also love how you can create the characters either way. Maybe next time I will create a snowman similar to the Santa. These will be fun to give away during the holiday season with a little treat inside.

1. Cut out two Stitched Favor Box Die cuts and cut off the tab sides

2. On the back side, draw score lines

3. Glue the two parts together and score along the lines

4. Fold along each score mark

5. Run a ribbon through the slits on the treat box.
Outside to inside and outside to inside again

6. Tie the ribbon to bring the whole treat box together

Instructions for Santa: Santa's hat and mustache are from the Santa Suit Dies. Santa's beard and hair are a cut up Fun Stitched Cloud Die cut. The circle for the face and part of the beard were cut out using a die from the Your Spot On Stamp Set.  Santa's face was stamped on with a Peachy Keen face stamp. The nose and mouth were colored in with Copic markers. His eye brows were colored in with a white gel pen.

The belt and buttons were created using dies from the Holidays Tags Stamp & Die Set.  The belt buckle and coat strip were cut out using dies from the Santa Suit Dies

The same technique was used to create the box for the snowman. The snowman's hat was cut out using dies from the I'm A Lucky Girl Stamp Set.  The snowman face is also a Peachy face that was colored in with Copic markers. To create the little scarf, a piece of red felt was cut with the Vintage Stitched Label Die.  It was then cut in half with scissors and the ends were cut off as well.

My Creative Time: Whatever Wednesday: Best Birthday Wishes: Pinwheel Flower

Hi, today is Whatever Wednesday over on the My Creative Time blog. I have a pretty birthday card to share. I just love how my pinwheel flower turned out!

The pinwheel flower was created by layering one Small Stitched Pinwheel and two Medium Stitched Pinwheel die cuts. The flower center was created with the small Scallop Stitched Rosette Dies with the Stitched Button Die.  The smaller rosette was created by cutting only one small rosette die cut in half and then gluing them together. White twine was tied through the button die cut and then the button was glued onto the rosette. The leaves are from the Stitched Leaves Dies.

The brown scallop and the white circle are from the Scalloped Stitched Circles.  The sentiment from the Window Sentiments & Flowers Stamp Set was stamped onto the Stitched Oval Die cut. The label was embellished with two gold brads. The kraft card stock mat was cut out with the More Stitched Rectangular Dies and stamped with the Grainy Wood Background Stamp.  It was layered with a small yellow mat to match the flower. The brown card stock mat was cut out using the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies.

My Creative Time: Weird Holiday: Sugar Cookie Day

Hi, today is Weird Holiday day over on the My Creative Time Blog. I have learned that July 9th is Sugar Cookie Day. With today being the July 4th, I decided to create a sweet project that celebrates both days.

The cookie treat sleeve was cut out using the Stitched Treat Sleeve Die in patriotic pattern paper. A circle hole was cut out of the front using a die from the Scallop Stitched Circles.  The hole was covered with acetate paper. The red card stock band and the labels were cut out using the Stitched Belly Band Dies. The sentiment was created by combining two stamps from the Baked With Love Stamp Set and the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set. The little pinwheel was cut out using the Small Stitched Pinwheel Die. The little star was cut out using the Pinwheel Centers. The whole thing was hot glued onto lollipop stick and added behind the band. Then a yummy star shaped sugar cookie was added to the treat sleeve.
