MCT: Scrapping the Little Things

Hi, today is Scrapping the Little Things over on the My Creative Time Blog. We are creating our scrapbook projects based on the following sketch.

So here a little Smash Book page I came up with.

This is my baby girl at the pumpkin patch! I just love her infectious smile!! So I just knew I had to scrap this picture of her. This was the perfect sketch to do so!

I cut her picture out with the smallest rectangle from MCT: Stitched Rectangular Frames and matted it with orange card stock.

For my pumpkin, I used the oval and tree trunk from MCT: Seasonal Greetings Stamp Set. I stamped the ovals with MCT: Build a Scripty background stampI also used the smallest leaf from MCT: Piles of Smiles. I just turned it on its side to give the look of two leaves behind the stem.

The pretty little fall leaves are from MCT: A Thankful Heart Stamp Set.

I stamped the sentiment from MCT: Card Sentiments onto a label from MCT: Vintage Stitched Label Dies.

Well that's my project!

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day!! For more amazing design team inspiration please head on over to Miss Emma's Blog!

My Creative Time: Sneak Peeks Day #4

Good morning! It's day #4 of  My Creative Time's 37th Edition Release!!! Today we will be showcasing two wonderful sets called "Oh Deer" and "Christmas Doggy".

Here what I created using the super cute "Christmas Doggy".

I stamped this adorable little doggy on white card stock and colored it in with Copic Markers. I then added glossy accents to his eyes and nose. I chalked his cheeks with Inkadinkado chalk ink. I stamped and paper pieced his little Santa hat and added glossy accents to it too.

For the base of my card, I used the large rectangle from MCT: Stitched Rectanular Frame Dies. I then embossed it with a Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder. I used MCT: Bunch of Fun Circles to cut a large circle in it for my shaker card window.

For the snow globe, I used the large scallop circle and the largest circle to create the top. For the bottom I used a Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons: Snow Globe SVG. I stamped the base with MCT: Grainy Wood Background stamp in Versamark embossing ink and then used Recollection's clear embossing powder on it.
I added the holly leaves embellishment to the top from the new "Boughs of Holly". I then added the white embossed "Fleas Navidad" sentiment (also from "Christmas Doggy") to the base. To finish it, I added acetate to the window and put pop dots all around the inside of the circle.

For the inside, I used MCT: Fun Stitched Edges and the new "Whimsical Trees". How cute are those little ornaments? I added Christmas ornament snow to the snow globe and adhered it to my card base.

Peachy Keen Stamps: Tutorial

If you are looking for My Creative Time's Day #3 of sneak peeks please click here.

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a tutorial on how to make a homemade snow globe with your Peachy Keen Stamps.

Here is a picture of supplies needed to make the snow globe.

I first stamped and paper pieced the adorable snowman from PK-330 Snowman Doll Set. His pipe was stamped and paper pieced from PK-329 Chill Baby Chill Snowman Set. I colored the pipe, his nose, and his shoes in with Copic markers. I chalked his cheeks with Inkadinkado chalk ink. I also added a few white gel pen accents. Then I took it to my local Staples to be laminated.

Cut around your laminated image. However, you do not want to cut too close to your image. If you do, water can seep in and ruin your image.

Using super glue, make sure you have a nice and tight seal on your lid. Any tiny space will allow water to come through. You may want to give the glue a bit of time to fully dry.

Once your lid is dry, use your glue gun to add your laminated image along with any accessories to the inside of the lid. I found this tree at Hobby Lobby in the miniature section and the lamp post at the Dollar Tree. Though I ended up having to switch to a different tree since this one turned my water blue.

Fill your jar with water and leave just a bit of room at the top. Then add a bit of Glycerin to your water. This helps your glitter fall slower. You can find Glycerin in the baking section of your local craft store usually. Pour in the glitter and use a spoon to mix it up.

Now glue your lid onto the jar and you've got a homemade snow globe. You can leave the lid plain our decorate it as I did. I decorated the lid with Recollection's polka dot ribbon, My Creative Time: Snowflake die, and a silver sequin from my stash.

This is what it looked like with the blue water caused by the tree. I didn't care for it, so as I mentioned earlier, my son helped me use the same concept and switch out the tree that wouldn't die the water a different color. I found it at the Dollar Tree

Here is what is looks like all shook up!! So pretty!!

Here is another example of one I made using PK-1346 Picture Snow Day.

All the stamps used in the snow globes are Peachy Keen Stamps: October Specials!! So they are running a great sale on them along with many other fantastic Peachy Keen Stamps.

I hope you all enjoyed my tutorial today and I have inspired you to try one of these yourself with your Peachy Keen Stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy stamping!!

My Creative Time: Sneak Peeks Day #3

Good morning! It's day #3 of My Creative Time's 37th Edition Release!!! Today we will be showcasing a wonderful new set called "Winter Cheer"!

For the base of my card, I used MCT: Bunch of Fun Circles. Instead of paper, I used glittery foam sheets that I got at the Dollar Tree. I cut the green circle with my Cricut.

I added a mini bow to the top using MCT: Fun Size Scallop Stitched bow die.

I cut the cute little skates from the new "Winter Cheer" stamp set. The skates and mittens from this set are a must have for all your winter/Christmas projects!!

I then used Memento: Tuxedo Black Ink to add the sentiment also from "Winter Cheer" to the bottom of the card.

I finished by adding silver sequins from my stash.

My Creative Time: Sneak Peeks Day #2

Good morning! It's that time again!! It's day #2 of My Creative Time's 37th Edition Release!!! Today we will be showcasing a beautiful new set called "Boughs of Holly"!

For the base of my card, I used MCT: Stitched Rectanular Frame Dies. I used the largest one to cut out the gold paper and the middle sized one for the white paper.

I then embossed the white paper with a Cuttlebug: Grace's Frame embossing folder. I love the elegance that it creates!

Next, I used MCT: Pretty Spring Wreaths along with Recollection's Tinsel Gold Embossing Powder to create the foundation of the wreath.

I then layered two tones of green holly leaves using the smallest holly leave die from this new "Boughs of Holly" set onto the embossed wreath. Love how part of the gold peeks out from under the leaves.

I then cut out several gold little circles from the same set and a little bow from MCT: Hello Chickie Stamp Set to add to the wreath.

I finished the card by adding the sentiment from "Boughs of Holly" and MCT: Sit Back & Relax Stamp Set. Oh, and gold sequins from my stash.

Hello, today we have a brand new Peachy Keen Stampschallenge! It's filled with fabulous fall colors!! We hope you come join in on the fun!!
Here’s how the challenge works. We’ve taken two of our most popular challenges, the color challenge and photo inspiration challenge and combined them. (PLEASE NOTE that just for fun, in future challenges we may change this up.) We’ll you can use the photo, color palette, or any combination for endless opportunities in your creative process. Just decide what part of the challenge inspires you and create whatever you’d like. Card, home decor, scrapbook layout, WHATEVER. It’s totally up to you. Please remember that you DON’T HAVE to use Peachy Keen Stamps to play along with our challenge, but we love it when you do!
Here are the challenge photos for you to draw inspiration from, with challenge details to follow.
I was inspired to create a home decor' piece using the ever so cute PK-141 Lil' Tweets Thanksgiving stamp set.

I purchased this rustic 5x7 frame on clearance from Michael's and knew I wanted to create a great Thanksgiving project with it.

I stamped and paper pieced both of the turkeys with scraps I had lying around. I colored each one with Copic Markers and added white gel pen accents. I also chalked their cheeks with Inkadinkado chalk ink.

I stamped the sweet little prayer on to a label die cut from My Creative Time. I added brown ribbon to the base and gold sequins to the label. Both were from my stash.

I then used an EK Success corner punch and more gold sequins to embellish the corners of the pattern paper.

The daisy is from a Spellbinder's die. I cut out each petal and inked it with Memento: Dandelion ink. Then I added a small sequin to the center to match the picture.

The leaves were cut from a My Creative Time die and inked with coordinating Memento inks.

Well that's my project!! A super cute home decor' project that will brighten someone's home on the upcoming turkey day next month.

Guidelines:
  • Designs must be new and created for this challenge, AND only 1 entry per person is allowed for challenges.
