My Creative Time: What Inspires Me

Hi, today is What Inspires Me Wednesday over on the My Creative Time Blog. I know the holiday is over but I wanted to share what I was inspired to make over the Christmas break. I was watching Frosty The Snowman with my kids and it gave me the idea to create a fun snowman ornament. I love to make homemade ornaments!! This was so fun and easy to make! My kids love to shake it and make it snow!

I found these fun little picture frame ornaments at my local Michaels store. Thankfully it already has an acetate circle in the middle that helped with sizing. I first had to use my Cricut to cut out a larger circle in the red Recollection's card stock. Then I adhered it onto the acetate circle. I used the Bunch of Fun Circles to cut out a smaller circle with the Craft Smith background paper. I then cut out another circle in white Recollection's card stock and cut it with one of the Fun Stitched Edges to look like a snow bank.

I then cut out the cute little tree from the Seasonal Greetings Stamp set using a dark green Recollection's card stock. I then used a couple other little dies from this set to cut out the star and the ornaments. I used a piece a scrap paper that had the Grainy Wood Background stamped on it to cut out the tree stump.

The adorable snowman comes from the Snow Buddies Stamp set. I stamped the snowman and then used my scissors to cut him out by hand. I colored the hat, arms, and nose with Copic markers. I paper pieced his scarf and hat ribbon to match the large red circle. I also added the little heart and holly to the snowman. Both are from the Seasonal Greetings Stamp set.

I added everything onto the ornament circle and then filled it with the fake snow that I purchased at Hobby Lobby last year. I really like how some of the fake snow has stuck to the ornament and it looks like it is snowing inside.

MCT: 50th Edition Release: Day 3 of Sneak Peeks

Hi, and welcome to day 3 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time's 50th Edition Release. Today we are sneaking the adorable You're A Hit Valentine Stamp Set. I love this set so much!!

When I saw these adorable little kiddo stamps, I thought they would look so cute on a coffee cup with this sentiment! So I headed on down to the local Starbucks and asked for a couple of the small red holiday coffee cups. Just the right size for this project.

I created the coffee cup sleeve using the stitched band from the Stitched Belly Band Dies and Kraft card stock. Then I embellished it with a pretty Stitched Scallop Heart and an adorable kiddo image from You're A Hit Valentine Stamp Set on each one. I colored the images in with Copic markers. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and chalk the cheeks.

I cut out a matching tag using the Holiday Tags Stamps & Die Set. I then stamped the sentiment, also from the You're A Hit Valentine Stamp Set, onto the tag using Versamark Ink with Recollection's Snow Embossing Powder. I added it to a popsicle stick and then placed in the cup lid. I then added another small heart to the top of the popsicle stick.

MCT: 50th Edition Release: Day 1 of Sneak Peeks

Hi, and welcome to day 1 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time: 50th Edition Release. Today, we are sneaking the fabulous new Mini Greeting Dies. Love all the sayings in this set!! They are the perfect size for cards and tags!! Though you could use them on anything really!

For the card base, I used Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies. I then cut out a coordinating rectangular  cut out using light blue card stock and adhered it to my card base.

I cut out a large postage frame using Stitched Postage Frame Dies and added white gel pen stitching to the sides. I then cut out the map pattern paper using the More Stitched Rectangular Dies and adhered it onto the large postage frame.

I cut out the smallest postage frame and cut a heart out using one of the hearts from the Hey There Little Lady Stamp Set. I adhered a piece of red card stock on the back and filled the heart in with Glossy Accents.  Then I finished by adding white gel pen stitching as well.

I used my Cuttlebug along with the label die from Vintage Stitched Label Dies to selectively cut and extend the label cut.  I then added white gel pen stitching to it to match the rest of the card. I then adhered the "miss you" that was cut with the new Mini Greeting Dies. I strung American Crafts twine on both sides of the label and finished by adding a few gold mini sequins to the card.

Bee Mine!: EOS Lip Balm Project

Hi, today I have a cute Valentine's Day project using a great new file called Valentine Monogram by Sanqunetti Design

I've seen these great projects for the last couple of years using the EOS Lip Balms and decided it was about time to try one. I thought this little bee would look perfect with one.

After I cut all the pieces out for the bee, I inked the edges with Cantaloupe and Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink. I then added to cute face using Peachy Keen Stamps: PK-1470 The Adorbsies Face Assortment. I colored the eyes and mouth in with Copic markers. I also chalked the cheeks with Inkadinkado Chalk Ink.

I added the "BEE MINE!" sentiment from the My Creative Time: Puffy Hearts Just For You Stamp Set onto the bottom of the bee. I used Versamark Ink along with Recollection's Snow Embossing powder to make it stand out on the black.

I adhered all the pieces together and then cut a hole in the center for the lip balm to fit through. I added some white gel pen accents and then added the lip balm.

A simple, yet fun, little Valentine's Day project!! So glad I finally made a project using these fun little lip balms!

MCT: Favorite Stamp Of The Month: Believe In Your Dreams

Hi, today is the Favorite Stamp of the Month for December day over on the My Creative Time Blog. Emma has chosen the beautiful Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set for this month. If this stamp set have been on your wish list, you can pick this set up HERE at a discount price! This set will be on sale the entire month of December! The sale will end December 31, 2015, @ 12:00am PST!

So I decided to create a beautiful dreamcatcher shaker card using this set along with many other wonderful MCT products! It took a lot creative thinking to come up with it! Though I love the way it turned out!

I first cut out a piece of white card stock using the largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the die cut with the Oxford: Cuttlebug embossing folder. I really love the pattern it creates!

I stamped the three leaves from the Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set on aqua card stock. I did so by stamping them with Versamark Ink along with Recollection's Gold Embossing powder. Then I cut each one out with the coordinating dies from the set.

I cut out the hoop or ring out using a couple of circles from the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies. I then used one of the paint splatter stamps from Family Is Everything Stamp Set to add some gold to the ring.

I used two ovals from the Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies and Seasonal Greetings Stamp Set to create the string like pattern inside the ring. I glued the ovals together and then added a gold circle to the middle that was cut out using a die from the Build A Banner Stamp Set. Then I added a cute little heart to the circle also from the Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set. I glued the ring onto the pattern of ovals and then cut the overlapping pieces off with scissors.

I wanted to make it into a shaker so I glued a piece of Vellum onto the back of the ring. Next, I added pop dots all around the back edges. I then filled the back of the ring with two sizes of gold sequins along with little hearts that were cut out using dies also from the Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set. I closed the shaker by glueing on another circle on the back.

I stamped on the sentiment from Believe In Your Dreams Stamp Set onto a Vellum strip that was cut out using the Stitched Belly Band Dies. I then attached it as well as the dreamcatcher parts onto my embossed rectangle die cut. I finished the card by adding a few circles to look like beads on the dreamcatcher. I cut them out using a die from the Boughs of Holly Stamp Set.

Valentine Bear

Hi, today I have a cute little lollipop holder to share!! I created it with a cute new svg file called Valentine Bear from Sanqunetti Design.

Once I had the little bear put together, I added a super cute face from Peachy Keen Stamps: PK-1561 Raggedy Dolly, Teddy, and Bird 1 1/8 " Face Assortment . I colored the eyes with a Copic marker and added Glossy Accents to the eyes. I also chalked the cheeks with Inkadinkado Chalk Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from My Creative Time: Beary Special Thoughts onto a My Creative Time: Stitched Oval Die cut. I used this same stamp set to add the little stitched square to the bear heart as well. I embellished the oval with a couple of cute little hearts from My Creative Time: Seasonal Greetings Stamp Set.

I finished it by adding a few white gel pen accents to the bear and a yummy Original Gourmet: Wild Cherry Lollipop.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! I have a cute card to share featuring an adorable file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I just got some new Peachy Keen Stamps faces and couldn't wait to use them on one of Lisa's amazing files for the Happy Holidays challenge

The cute PPPR file is called Turkey Costume. Isn't it just the cutest? Before I pieced the cut file together, I inked the edges with coordinating Memento inks. I omitted the eyes and used a cute face from Peachy Keen Stamps: PK-1560 Raggedy Doll, Teddy, and Bird Face Assortment. I was so glad that Kathy released this set!! I've always wanted the original Rag Doll and Teddy Bear face assortment, however it has been retired for quite some time. I love her revised version!! I colored the eyes in with a Copic marker and added white gel accents to the cut file.

I added some little leaves to the sides of the card using a cute leaf die from My Creative Time's original version of Piles of Smiles. I inked the edges of the leaves with the same coordinating Memento Inks.

I finished the card by adding several gold mini sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release: Sneaky Peeks Day 4

Hi and welcome to day 4 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the fun new Stitched Pop-Up Pieces Dies. They are so much fun to work with!! You are going to love making pop-up cards with these new dies.

I first cut the pattern paper out using the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die. I folded it in half and then used the new Stitched Pop-Up Pieces Dies to create the pop-up piece on the pattern paper cut out. I then matted it with some blue card stock.

I used the Light the Candles Stamp & Die Set to cut out all the pieces to the adorable little cupcake. The eyes were stamped from the You Make Life Sweet Stamp Set and the bowtie was from the You Had Me At Meow Stamp Set. I added white gel pen stitching to the eyes and the cherry. I also added Glossy Accents on them both as well. Then I adhered the cupcake onto the pop-up piece on the card.

I embellished the back of the pattern paper with a banner from the Stitched Party Dies. I added the fun blue scallop strip and the pink stitched strip to the front of the pattern paper using dies form the Fun Vertical Greetings Stamp Set (Revised). I then stamped the sentiment from the Mixed Just For You Stamp Set onto a Vintage Stitched Label Die cut. I embellished it with two little stars from the 4x4 Journal Die and More.

My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release: Sneaky Peeks Day 3

Hi and welcome to day 3 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the fabulous new Date Night Stamp Set and the wonderful new Popcorn Background Stamp set.

When I saw these stamp sets I automatically thought of the Stitched Treat Sleeve Die. I knew it would look like the perfect popcorn bag with the right paper. Luckily, I found this striped paper at Michaels and it was perfect for my project idea.

I first cut out two of the Stitched Treat Sleeve in the red and white striped paper.  I cut off the front side of one of them and adhered the rest of it onto the backside of the other one. Then I adhered the other striped sleeve together to create the popcorn bag look and to make a slot to slip a bag of microwave popcorn in it. The regular popcorn bags will not fit but the mini 100 calorie bags fits perfectly!

I cut out the black card stock Stitched Belly Band and embellished it with the fun film strip from the new Date Night Stamps Set. I then cut out the cute Stitched Fun Tickets and added the sentiment also from the Date Night Stamps Set to them. I embellished the tickets with the adorable little stars from the 4x4 Jornal Die & More Die Set.

I had to add a few of the fun dies and stamps that are also from the Date Night Stamps Set. For the tickets and the film marker, I stamped them with Versamark Ink and Recollection's Black Embossing Powder. Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I cut out the film reel and added a circle behind it from the Build A Banner Stamp Set to look like film on it.

My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release: Sneaky Peeks Day 2

Hi and welcome to day 2 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time: 49th Edition Release. Today, we are showcasing the fun new Be Your Best Selfie Stamp Set

For my white card base, I used the Stitched Square Dies Inside and Out. Then I cut out another smaller square using the same dies in a light aqua blue card stock.

I cut out the fun selfie frame using the die from the new Be Your Best Selfie Stamp Set. I then stamped on the red stripes using the new Stripey Background Stamp. I adhered a piece of acetate paper on the back of the selfie frame for my shaker part of the card. I then added foam tape all around the edges to create a border. I turned it upside down and added my Christmas colored sequins to it. I set it aside to work on my background of the shaker.

I first stamped on parts of the sentiment onto the red card stock using the Belly Band Sentiments Stamp Set. I stamped them on using Versamark Ink along with Recollection's Snow Embossing Powder. I used another die from the Be Your Best Selfie Stamp Set to cut out the "#selfie" and then adhered in between my embossed sentiment.

The adorable little doggy comes from the Christmas Doggy & More Stamps Set (Revised). I stamped and paper pieced his little hat also from this set as well as his scarf from the Snow buddies Stamp Set (Revised). I colored in the stripes of his scarf using a Copic marker. I added glossy accents to his nose and eyes. I finished his look with adding Clear: Wink Of Stella to the white on his hat (even though you can't tell in the photo). I added my shaker window to the rest of the card and then adhered him onto the bottom corner of the card.

I wanted to embellish the top of the card as well. So I cut out two holly leaves using a die from the Boughs of Holly Stamp Set. For the berries, I used the Holiday Tags Stamp & Die Set. I added Clear: Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the berries as well.
