Bewitching Pumpkin

Happy Hump Day!! Today, I have a Halloween Decor' item to share with you!! I had so much fun putting this pumpkin witch together with my Peachy Keen Stamps! 


I found this green pumpkin at Wally World and I thought of making it into a witch right of the bat (no Halloween pun intended). Then I thought that the 4" The Moodies Face Parts would make the perfect witch face! In fact, I think they made a great witch face. My son told me that without the tooth, it looked a lot like the Grinch and we should put it out for Christmas as well. I had to chuckle at that one but I don't think I will be using it as Christmas decor'.


I'm not so hot with a paint brush, so I individually paper pieced each one. I used Copics, Chalk Ink, and a black pen to make the pieces come to life. I then adhered each one with a fast drying adhesive.


I wanted to make a paper witch hat for her but didn't have a clue where to start. I found a great svg from the Silhouette Store but I don't own one of those. So I went searching for a Cricut one. I came across the gr8scraps blog and she has a great tutorial on how to make one. Please go check her pumpkin out! I made the base of the hat a bit bigger. It came out to be 10 1/2 inches and the cone was 11 1/4 inches. All cut out using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.


I used the Autumn Quart Jar Accessories:Skulls on 1" circles to fill in the scallop holes. I used black deco mesh with a jewel, green braided raffia, and feathers to decorate the hat. I finished it off by added green and purple stickles to dress it up a bit more. Even though she may look mean, she still likes to be stylish.

Peachy Keen Stamps: Sketch Challenge



This week's Peachy Keen Stamp challenge is a sketch challenge based on the sketch below: 


Here is what I came up with based on the sketch:



The cute cat in the pumpkin and the smaller pumpkin comes from KaDoodle Bug Designs. The cat face comes from PK's Here Kitty Kitty face assortment. The monster faces come from PK's The Uglies. I just love these monster faces!!!


For the tag, I cut it out using the Cricut Robot Party Cartridge. I thought it looked spooky. I stamped on Happy Halloween from PK's Clearly Autumn Jar Accessories and a pumpkin from PKSC-22 October 2013.

The arrow was cut from a My Creative Time and For You was stamped from PKSC-22 October.

The twine is from american crafts and the paper is from The Paper Studio.

Peachy Keen Stamps Release Challenge #2: 3-D Halloween Project


Hi! Today, I have a spook-tacular project to share with you for the Peachy Keen October Release Challenge #2. I'm hosting the challenge this month and it is to create a 3-D Halloween Project using your Peachy Keen Stamps. You can find my challenge as well as Janice's challenge at the Peachy Keen Website under the Community Challenges Forum. Janice has a wonderful challenge as well and please be sure to check out her beautiful sample in the release challenge #1 forum. 

This project was quite the undertaking but I had so much fun creating it as well! I love, love, love how it turned out!! The haunted house is a svg cut from SVGcuts.com called Maple Manor. Thankfully, they have made up a tutorial video already that you can find here that shows you how to put it together. Though I will let you know, that with this project, it took a lot of black card stock just to cut out all the house parts. So whatever house color you decide to go with make sure you have at least 15-20 sheets of 12 x 12 paper. 
That includes whatever house siding papers you would like on it and vellum.



For each of the house parts, I took a dabber and put VersaMagic: Cloud White on the sides to give it a more distressed creepy look.

For the gray siding I used the Sizzix Notebook embossing folder. So glad that I already owned this folder that was suggested in the video. The spider web siding is Recollections and the roof paper is from DCWV. It doesn't show but the roof paper has a bit of a sparkle to it.



For this project, I used only PK stamps from the new  October  Stamp of the Month and a add on set called Clearly Autumn Quart Jar Contents. Though Peachy Keen Stamps has many other wonderful Halloween stamps that would work perfect on a project like this. The pumpkins and ghost faces are from the SOTM club kit. The skulls and the sentiment are from the Clearly Autumn. I love these skulls!!

The pumpkins were stamped and paper pieced onto DCWV paper and then I colored their stems with a Cocoa Brown Copic Marker.

The little ghosts were cut from a svg file from Too Cute By Jessica: Kawaii Halloween. I thought those little faces from the Stamp of the Month kit looked like little Kawaii faces. I cut them out with white canvas texture card stock and then put Memento: London Fog ink of the sides. I stamped their faces on them and colored their cheeks in with a Dark Red Copic Marker. I even added one of these adorable Peachy Keen faces to the very top window. I just stamped it on vellum and then put black embossing powder on top.


For the sentiment, I cut out a banner using a Momenta Banner die and my Cuttlebug. I inked the edges with VersaMagic: Cloud White and stamped on it with VersaMark embossing ink along with Recollections: Snow White embossing powder. I then adhered it to the top of the door. 

To create the skull siding I created two masks. I first stamped on one set of skulls using Versamark Embossing Ink, then lined my mask up on top of the already stamped images. Once towards the bottom you will need both masks to cover up the top and the bottom at the same time. Then I put black Recollection embossing ink on it and then instant skull background paper. I wasn't too worried with some images coming out distorted or the loose embossing powder since it gave it a more distressed look. Perfect for a Halloween haunted house. 

I will show you roughly how I did this just using black Memento Ink.

Step 1. Cut out two masks of the skull stamp.

Step. 2 Stamp the first image in the upper left corner. I did not line the top of the stamp with the paper as it would leave too much of a gap.

Step 3. Put your mask on top of the first stamped image. Line the stamp up just barely overlapping onto the masks. Once again to not leave too much of gap on the top. Then continue to do this once again on the top.



Step 4. Place just one mask back on the very first stamped image in the upper left corner and then stamp the skulls on the bottom left corner.
Once you have stamped it you will want to put a masks over top of it as well as your top center stamped image. Then masks the two next areas till you have a completely stamped piece of paper.




I finished the haunted house by adding a Recollections jewel to the door, Dollar Tree Spider webs to the roof/porch, and color changing LED tea lights in the bottom and top parts. It looks so cool at night lit up!

October Peachy Keen Sneak Peeks Day #4

Happy Friday!! I so excited to share with you my creations for the October Peachy Keen Stamps Release. I had so much fun working with these stamps!! I big thank you to Angelica! She did a wonderful job on designing this month's stamps.  


For my first project, I created a wreath using the new October Stamp of the Month Kit and a add on set. It turned out beautifully!! I love it!! The colors and these stamps worked so well together.


I cut strips of papers from the Recollections: Fall paper pad. They were 1" by 8", 1.25 " by 12", and 1.50" by 12".  I scored them at every 1/4". I then used a dabber and Memento Brown ink on the edges. Lastly, I folded them and hot glued them together on a 1 3/4" card stock circle.

I stamped and paper pieced all of the images using Memento inks. Every image/sentiment is from the new SOTM except for two. The "Autumn" sentiment and the yellow leaf are from add on sets. I love the "So Blessed" sentiment.

I finished the wreath by added coordinating buttons from Recollections as well. 




For my second creation, I had to create a Green Bay Packers card in honor of the lovely Peachy Peeps in Wisconsin. He turned out so cute! I created this card with the new October Stamp of the month kit's football and circle sentiment. I just cut out the football and moved the arrow around to be pointing at "Game On". 

The little football player is from Too cute by Jessica: Football Season. For his face I used PK's In the Garden Face assortment. I paper pieced his eyes and chalked his cheeks.

Cut Files, Clipart, and Stamps OH MY! KBD and TCBJ Face Fan Page Hop

Hi! Today, we have a fun Facebook Fan Page Hop going on using KaDoodle Bug and Too Cute By Jessica cut files. 


Here is my project for Day 1 (Friday, Sept. 27th )of the hop:


I created this little Halloween gift bag using KaDoodle Bug Designs Spooky Boo Bear File:http://www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com/item_1332/Spooky-Boo-Bear.htm 


After cutting out each piece I used a sponge and Tom Holtz Tea Dyed Distress Ink on the sides of every piece. Then I glued them all together.

For the pumpkins and the spiders, I used Peachy Keen's PK-550 Pumpkin Faces. I then put chalking ink on their cheeks.

For the ghost face I used a Peachy Keen retired set called Monsters N' More. I too used chalking ink on the the ghost cheeks. 

The sign comes from Peachy Keen's PK-646 Faceless Fall Fun 2. I used Versamark and Recollection's snow white embossing powder on it. I stamped the "Boo!" from another retired set called Phrases that stretched. I embossed the sign and the fence using a Darice Wood grain embossing folder.

The handle bag file comes from SVG cutting files. It is so easy to put together. After putting on the background square which is paper from Hobby Lobby, I finished with an American Craft baker's twine border.

PKC 13-38 : 3D Objects : Potluck

 Are you ready for another fun Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge? We sure hope so because we have a great one this week. 

Create a 3D object of your choice following the theme Potluck. Ever gone to a potluck and had no clue what a dish might be? Here is your chance to make an item to give a heads up of what your dish is. It could be toppers, placards, a banner, or anything else that sparks your creativity! Or maybe you have an awesome way to display your dish, that would work too. Use your amazing creativity to make a run with this challenge!!

This one made me think a bit since I didn't want to do just your normal place card sign. So here is what I came up with. 

Whenever I go to a family reunion there is always a potluck dinner. Usually there are a lot of desserts that includes pies. Sometimes you have no idea what each one is till someone digs into them. Well with these adorable little chef signs you have no problem of knowing what pie is what. 

The little chef die cut comes from KaDoodle Bug Designs: Kitchen Chefs. I added a PK face from the Christmas Character face stamp assortment. This is a must have in my book!! I love this set! I then made their cheeks rosier with Inkadinkado Chalk Ink. Lastly, I inked the sides with black ink and added pen doodling to each one. 


Here is a closer look at one of the little chefs. I used the pie from the brand new PK set called In the Kitchen.  Once I stamped it on the cut out, I then proceeded to color them in with Copic Markers.


I decided that I needed a cute little container to hold forks and knives. You can never get enough utensils at a potluck. 



I found these adorable little bags at the Dollar Tree and thought they would make a great craft project someday. Well thankfully I had them on hand because I thought it would make a wonderful container for my utensils. I took the ribbons out of it first. I then cut a tag out from a die cut from My Creative Time. Tied the ribbon on the tag from the bag. (No I didn't mean to be a poet hahaha) I then adhered the little chef and the tag onto the front of the bag. Instant utensil container.

So that is my project in a nutshell! We hope you will join along in this challenge and I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

September PKS Release Reveal and Challenges


Happy Peachy Keen Stamp Release Day!! I hope you were able to join us for the release party tonight! If not, you can still go back to PKS ning site and see all the amazingly talented DT projects. My design team sisters are amazing and they have created some wowzers.


Here is my card for Gigi's Challenge: Create any project that includes a Peachy Keen Face and at least 1 Die Cut.  


I cut this adorable little girl out from the brand new Cricut Cartridge called Create a Friend. It has so many great little kid characters on it and your Peachy Keen Stamp faces will look amazing on them. Just like the Moodies face I used on her. She looks so adorable with that face! She was cut at 3.5 inches.

The mixing bowl is actually the small coffee cup from the new PKSC-21 September 2013. I just cut the handle of and it looks like a bowl.

The the mixer or egg beater comes from the new PK-1337 In the Kitchen. I stamped and paper pieced it and then colored the handle in with a copic marker to match the bowl.

The cake also comes from the new stamp of the month kit. I stamped it with Versamark ink and then put pearl embossing powder on it. I then colored the cake body with a Lemon Copic Marker. The cake stand was cut from an SVG from KaDoodle Bug Designs called Birthday Party Kids. 

I combined three sentiments to come up with my birthday sayings. "Whippin' Up" comes from In the Kitchen. I used the a from "Hot Flash!!". It as well as "Happy Cake Day!" come from the Stamp of the Month.
