Peachy Keen Stamps: Trend Spotting

Hi, today is trend spotting day over at the Peachy Keen Blog.
This week's trend is chalkboard art.

This trend is so fun to work with. Plus, you can be a bit messy and not so perfect. I was excited to see what I could come up with using my peachies and this technique.

I first stamped on the banner from PKSC-13 January Stamp of the Month Kit on to chalkboard paper with Versamark ink and then used white embossing powder on it. Then I added the sentiment to it from PKSC-04 February 2012. Next, I took a chalkboard pen and went along the edges. I would smear it with my finger as I went along. After I adhered it to the card base, I stamped the "Celebrate" sentiment also from PKSC-13 January Stamp of the Month Kit.

Next, I stamped on the "Happy Birthday" from PK-161 Happy Birthday-Big using the same technique as the banner. Then I stamped the flourishes at the bottom, which are also from PKSC-13 January Stamp of the Month Kit. Once I had all my stamps all chalked, I then took a colored pencil and went of the edges of each one. This added just a pop of color.

I added banner cuts from My Creative Time's Stitched Party Dies and flowers from My Creative Time's Flower Petal Dies. I added a Recollection's pearl to the flowers and American Crafts Twine.

I then smudged some white chalk ink all over the black paper and around the stamps to finish the chalkboard look.

I hope I given you some inspiration on how to use your peachies to create the chalkboard look.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Now to share my hop project.
I love this sentiment!! Every time I read it, the song by The Doors gets stuck in my head! It goes great with this face on the camp fire.

I stamped, colored, and paper pieced the camp fire from PKSC-29 May 2013. Then I added that super cute face from the kit as well!! I pop dotted him onto a die cut from My Creative Time's Stitched Capture Frame die. I then added little silver Stickles to create the starry look. I wrapped the die cut in American Crafts twine and added a My Creative Time's Layering Heart to it.

I stamped the sentiment from A Little Light Camping onto a cut out from My Creative Time's Stitched Vintage Label Die set. I then added Recollection's Enamel Dot Stickers.

My Creative Time-Try Me Tuesday

Hi, today is Try Me Tuesday over at the My Creative Time blog. We are to create a window card. So here is what I came up with.

I used Lorie Whitlock's: Stand Up Butterfly Card for my base. I added white gel pen stitching to the outside of the card.

I used the MCT: Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves to create the flowers and I adhered them around the edges of the scallop. I inked each flower and added a Recollection's Enamel Dot to each one.

I cut out the MCT: Curly Label Die and stamped on a sentiment from MCT: Bracket Sentiments. I then added a little butterfly from MCT: Chunky Jar Accessories.

I used Recollection's Kraft Card Stock, Simple Stories Pattern Paper, and Bazzill Green Card Stock.

Well that's my window card!! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Tonight we bring you creations made by out talented team members using Camping Pine and A Little Light Camping stamp sets. These whimsical images are the perfect on their own, or with any of the other sets within this release, and they give you so many options for creativity.

Since I already mad the s'mores treat box with the adorable May Stamp of the Month, I decided I needed to create the lantern. They are both from the SVG Cuts: Camp S'more set. These 3D projects were a perfect fit with Kathy's new stamps. Those little lightning bugs are just too cute for words.

For the lantern, I used The Guy Stack from DCVW, Recollection's Aspen Card Stock, and Recollection's Vellum. I inked the edges of the pattern paper with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink. I then added jute ribbon around the base of the lid and body. Finished it off by added buttons onto each ribbon.

For the lightning bugs from the new A Little Light Camping set, I first stamped them onto a vellum cut out and used clear embossing powder on top. I colored the wings with a Copic Marker. Then I colored and cut out the head and body also with Copics. I then added white gel accents to the light bulb and glossy accents.

I stamped, colored, and paper pieced the signs, lantern, and raccoon. I added glossy accents to the lantern. The lantern and the sign come from the new Camping Pine Set. I also added white gel pen accents to the raccoon.

I then stamped the sentiment from A little Light Camping onto a die cut from My Creative Time called Fly away with me stamp set.
We’ll be back here tomorrow night for one final round of sneak peeks before our BIG Release and Reveal on the 5th.  Please join us as we share great projects created by our team using two new stamp sets.   Our favorite part of all this sneak peeking is being able to give our readers a chance to win a prize.  Would you like a chance to win the sets we’re showcasing tonight? Of COURSE you would!!  All you need to do is leave your comment and for each comment you leave (here, on the PKS and other designer blogs), you’ll get one chance to win, so share the love, folks!

Tonight we’re introducing you to the PKSC-29 May 2014 Stamp of The Month set, and the PK-1393 Raccoon Head and Face Assortment stamps. Prepare for some cuteness overload, friends!

These little s'mores and raccoon that Kathy has created are so darn cute!! I absolutely love the faces. They are going to be wonderful for all your camping projects.
When I saw them I knew I just had to create this cute little s'more treat box. It comes from SVG Cuts.

I colored and paper pieced each individual image. I added glossy accents to the chocolate on the s'mores to give it the appearance of melted gooey goodness.

I inked all of the accent pattern paper with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink and then added jute ribbon to each one. Then I decorated both sides with an adorable little s'more.

I also adorned the front with some grass cut out from My Creative Time's Stitched Grass.

I cut out the sentiment using My Creative Time's Stitched Square Speech Bubbles.

To finish, I added in the graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmellows. It holds enough to make four s'more. A cute little gift to help a camper make some sweet treats.
Well, are those some of the sweetest images you've ever seen, or what?

PKS May Sketch Challenge

Hi, today is a brand new sketch challenge over at

We were to create a project based on the following sketch.

So here is what I came up with.

I tried to stay pretty close to the original layout of the sketch.

I first cut my base papers out using Recollection's card stock and Simple Stories pattern paper. I cut out the four squares using My Creative Time's 4x4 Journal Die and More.

The little girl is a cut from SVG Cutting Files: Puppy Love. I stamped on a face from Peachy Keen Stamps: The Moodies assortment. For her little puppy dog, I stamped on a face from the Peach Keen Stamps: Happy-Go-Lucky Dog assortment. I added a little tiny flower to her head band from My Creative Time's Way To Go Stamp Set. I colored in her eyes with a Copic Marker and added white gel pen accents.

The doily was cut out from a Quickcutz die. The larger flowers and leaves come from My Creative Time's Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves. I added Recollection's pearls to the centers.

The sentiment comes from the Peachy Keen Stamps: Female Floatin' Frog set. It was stamped on a banner die cut from My Creative Time's Vintage Label Die set.

The ribbon comes from Celebrate It 630.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! I hope I've given you some inspiration using the sketch. For more inspiration please head on over to the Peachy Keen Blog. We hope you will come play along!! Can't wait to see what you create!!

P.S.

Please join us tomorrow night for the first day of sneak peeks for the Peachy Keen Stamps May release. The fun will kick off at 6 p.m. CST over on the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog
