Coolest Crayon in the Box: layout

Hi!! I've got a layout to share with you today. This is was my son's first day of preschool. He was so excited to start and picked this shirt out at the store. So his shirt was the inspiration for this layout.

The title was stamped using Lucy's Solid ABC's and 123's. The adorable little crayons, two sweet faces, and the sentiments come from PKSC-08 August 2012 Stamp of the Month Sets. I also used the "you're" from the new Honey Sentiments. The rest of the faces come from The Moodies face assortment and Simple Simons face assortment. For the middle crayon, I just stamped the Simple Simon face and filled in the glasses with a black gel pen.

I cut the crayon box using Cricut's Simply Charmed Cartridge @ 4 inches. The three PK crayons fit perfectly. The arrow was cut from Cricut's Art Philosophy Cartridge @ 2 inches. The crayon scribble was cut from Cricut's Calligraphy Cartridge @ 1.5 inches.

Other products used:

Memento Bahama Blue, Lady Bug, Tuxedo Black Inks
Recollection's Pop Dots
Color Box Red Cat Eye Ink
White Gel Pen
Target Dollar Twine
Cricut Expression
White Gel Pen
Black Gel Pen
Dienamics Sentiment Strips Die

I had a lot of fun putting this together. I hope you enjoy it too!! Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!!

Sweet as Honey!

Happy Friday!! It is a rainy and stormy day here. My oldest has a day off of school for teacher's in service and I wish we weren't stuck in the house. Oh well, we will make the best of it.

Today, I have a layout to share with you. I created it with the new Peachy Keen April 2013 Stamp of the Month set! I love this set! It is so perfect for spring!!!

The bees, bee hive, butterflies, flowers, and honey jar are all from this set!! Aren't they just bee-u-tiful?! I sure think so!!!

For the bees, I cut and paper pieced the body. I colored in the yellow areas with a Copic marker. Then I stamp and paper pieced the wings on vellum. Since the ink wouldn't dry. I put clear embossing powder of it and then used the heat gun on it. I added white gel pen accent and Inkadinkado chalking ink to the cheeks.

The bee hive was also stamped and paper pieced. I colored the hole with a Copic marker and added white gel pen accents. I then finished it off by adding a small bow to the top with American Crafts' brown Baker's Twine.

The flowers were all stamped onto white card stock, then paper pieced, and colored with Copic markers. I finished them off to with white gel pen accents.

The beautiful butter flies were stamped onto white card stock and then colored with Copic Markers.

The honey jar, I stamped on white card stock and then colored with Copic Markers. I then stamped another jar onto vellum and then heat embossed it as I did the bee wings. I used the MS drippy goo punch to help create the dripping honey. I then put Glossy Accents on top of it. I then colored the jar lid and label with Copic markers and then added white gel pen accents.

The papers I used were from Recollection's Bee Hive and Turquoise Notebook Paper. They both came from Michaels. The title was cut from Cricut's Nursery Rhymes and the punch around the page set is from Martha Stewart's Three Loop Punch (not really sure of the name right now). Oh, and the grass comes from Martha Stewart's Birthday Cakes Cricut Cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you have a fabulous weekend and happy creating!!

Throwback Thursday: Beach Layout

Hi there! Today I want to share with you a layout I did a couple of years ago that I never shared on my blog!! I So wish I would have been better in the past with sharing my work on here. So I guess I'm sharing a throwback project.

I created this layout of my son's first time to the ocean. We were at San Jose, CA. He didn't really want to go in the water because he was having so much fun in the sand.

As you can see I used a lot of cut files from the Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge. I could not tell you today at what size I cut them out at.

Products used:
Cricut Expression and Life is a Beach Cartridge
Fiskar's Threading Water Punch
Colorbox Cat Eye Inks
Tim Holtz Distresser
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot
Dollar Store Google Eyes

Piece of Cake: Happy Birthday!!

Hi!! Today I have a fun 3D piece of cake box to share with you today!!

I created the cake box using the Cricut's Sweet Tooth Boxes Projects Cartridge. I cut it at the booklets suggested size of 10.75 using the Cricut Craft Room and my expression. I added white gel pen stitching on the side.

I added a face to the top from Peachy Keen's new PK-1202 The Moodies 2 1/4" using jet black Stazon on ink. I then paper pieced the eyes and mouth on white card stock. I colored them in with Copic markers.

The cute little candle was stamped and cut out from PKSC-December 2012 Stamp Of The Month set. I colored it too with Copic markers. I added Stickles Glitter and Inkssentials Glossy Accents to the body. The Happy Birthday sentiment also comes from this set.

I finished it off by adding Offray's Small Ivory Satin Rosettes with a hot glue gun. I thought they looked so much like decorative icing. I was so fortunate when I went to buy them they rang up for a penny at Michaels. How sweet is that?

Peachy Keen Stamps is having a great sale through April 12th on their new April Releases!! These new stamps are cute as can bee!!
Also, Tanya and Cassandra are hosting some great release challenges over at the Peachy Keen Connection and would love for you to join in. There is a $25 gift certificate that will be given away to one lucky participant.

April Release :: Sneak Peeks :: Day 4

Hi Peachy friends! So glad you could stop by my blog so I could share with you a sneak peek of the new Peachy Keen April Stamp of the Month set. This is such an adorable set and you are going to love it!! It will definitely put you in a Spring mood!!

So here is my sneak peek! Isn't that duckling just the cutest?! I stamped and paper pieced him on the a piece of scrap paper in my stash. I colored the legs/mouth with Copic Markers and colored his eyes in with a white gel pen. I then popped dotted him onto the front. The sentiment is also from the set and went perfectly with my baby card theme. It was stamped onto a My Creative Time Just Live Simply die cut label using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I cut the baby onesie using the Cricut and the Wrap it Up cartridge @ 5 inches. I first welded two onesies together to create the card base and then cut out the card front. I added white gel stitching, Recollection's jewels, American Crafts baker's twine, and buttons from my stash.

A very simple and fun card to make. Perfect for my friend having a little boy.

I hope you will take some time, if you haven't already, to visit the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog. The design team has some amazing sneak peeks and you should check them out.
