MCT: Scrapping the Little Things

Hi, today is Scrapping the Little Things over on the My Creative Time Blog. Since I haven't added to my Smash Book in a while I thought this was the perfect reason to do so. Plus, the new balloons gave me the idea to scrap/smash some of the pictures from the National Balloon Classic in Indianola, Iowa that we try to go see every year. This was a Night Glow! You got to see them land and then once it got dark you could see how beautiful each one looked all lit up by their fires. I highly recommend this to anyone! We always have a great time!!

I first paper pieced each of the hot air balloons from the new The Sky is the Limit stamp set.  Then I stamped and cut out three banners from the same set. I carefully stamped each sentiment part of the Enjoy the Little Things stamp onto a banner. I stamped the burlap background from the Build a Banner stamp set on the basket of the hot air balloons using a masking technique as well. I thought it really gave the wicker basket look to them. I then colored them in with a Copic marker.

I cut out several sizes of  Fun Stitched Clouds. I then traced the inside of the dies to create an outline on the clouds.

I cut out each picture using the rectangle die from the Love to Learn dies and stamp set.  Then I matted them with coordinating papers from the balloons. I then added the little Stitched Tab to the picture. I also added a cute little heart to our family picture, a star from the Thanks for the Lift stamp set, and banners also from the The Sky is the Limit stamp set

I then added some silver sequins from my stash to give it a bit of shine!

My Creative Time: What A Treat Wednesday

Hi, today is What a Treat Wednesday over on the My Creative Time blog. I created a fun little lollipop holder using the die from the Card Sentiments Stamp set

I love Miss Emma's fabulous lollipop holder die but I thought it would be fun to use this die to create a new lollipop holder for flat lollipops.

I first stamped on the Cartoon Cloud Background using baby blue ink. Then I took an Exacto Knife and cut a slit out in the bottom crease of the card so I could run the lollipop stick through it.

I then stamped and colored the fun little airplane with Copic markers. Then I added white gel pen accents to the wings and windows. I then cut it out with the coordinating die from the new Thanks for the Lift Stamp set.  I added a large and medium Fun Stitched Cloud to the card and then adhered the airplane on top of them. I then added some silver stars to the clouds.

I stamped on the sentiment also from the Thanks for the Lift Stamp set on to a tag from the Fun Stitched Tag dies. Then I inserted my lollipop and then tied the card with American Crafts Twine. Before you add the lollipop you could add a little message in the center of the card. I added one more little star to the center of the twine bow.  Now I had a cute little way to say thank you with a fun treat!

I hope I have inspired you to use your MCT dies in a whole new way!! Plus, who doesn't love getting more use out of your great dies!! Thank you so much for stopping by!! Please don't forget to check out all the amazing design team inspiration on Miss Emma's blog

My Creative Time: 42nd Release: Sneak Peeks Day #4

Hi and welcome back for the 4th and final day of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time's 42nd Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the new fabulous stamp set "Thanks For the Lift" along with the fun new freebie stamp "Enjoy The Little Things"

I stamped on the Cartoon Cloud Background onto a large Stitched Rectangular Frame using Baby Blue ink. I then cut a circle out with the Bunch of Fun Circle dies. I adhered a layer of vellum on the back and then put foam tape all around the circle. I filled the circle with gold sequins from my stash. I then adhered yellow card stock on the back to seal it.

I then used the new "Fun Stitched Clouds" cut outs from the last card I created. They were too blue for my liking, so I cut out vellum in the same sizes and glued them onto the original clouds. I then used the star dies from the new set to cover up my small adhesive dots on the clouds. Though I thought they added a nice touch to teach one.

I stamped and paper pieced the cutie patootie airplane. I colored the windows in with Copic markers and then added glossy accents to them. I also added a small glitter heart from the 4x4 Journal Die and More set. I stamped on the sentiment onto a banner from the new "Sky is the Limit" stamp set. I added two gold sequins to the banner. I finished the card by adding the pretty gold glittery ribbon and a small heart also from the "Sky is the Limit" stamp set. I added glossy accents on it as well.

My Creative Time: 42nd Release: Sneak Peeks Day #3

Hi and welcome to day 3 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time's 42nd Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the new fabulous stamp set "The Sky is the Limit" along with the amazing new "Fun Stitched Cloud" dies. I'm so glad Miss Emma has brought back these fun clouds. Love this fun hot air balloon set as well!!

Since these fun clouds have stitching on the inside of the cloud and the outside, I just knew I wanted to make a fun shaker card with them. Once I had them cut out of the Rectangular Frame background, I then placed a layer of vellum on the back to cover the cloud negatives. I used foam tape all round the clouds and the back of the paper. I then used gold sequins from my stash to fill in the clouds. I put another white card stock frame on the back to seal it. Then I adhered it the my card base.

I stamped and paper pieced the adorable hot air balloon from the new "The Sky is the Limit" stamp set. I then added the gold banner to the balloon also from this new wonderful set. I cut out a tiny heart from the 4x4 Journal Die and More Stamp set and added it to the basket. Then I went a little heart crazy and added more hearts from both sets to the sky.

I stamped on sentiment onto the smallest banner and layered it onto the middle sized banner from the Trio Stitched Banner dies. I then added more little hearts from from the 4x4 Journal Die and More Stamp set.

***Sneak Peek giveaway!***

My Creative Time: 42nd Release: Sneak Peeks Day #2

Hi and welcome back for day 2 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time's 42nd Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the new beautiful stamp set "Believe in Your Dreams".

I used the largest Stitched Rectangular Frame Die to cut out my pattern paper. Then I used the smallest to cut out the Vellum. I used the Fun Stitched Edges on the small Vellum rectangle to create a notebook page edge. I then used the Get Schooled Stamp set to finish the look. I used Versmark ink and Clear Embossing powder so it's a little bit hard to see in the picture. Though if you look closely you can see it.

I stamped and cut out the quill feather and ink bottle from the new "Believe in Your Dreams" stamp set. I colored them in with Copic markers. I added gold Stickles to the top of the feather.

I stamped the sentiment also from the new stamp set onto the fabulous label from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies. I used Versamark ink and Recollection's Gold Embossing Powder. Then I used one of the paint splatter stamps from the Family Is Everything Set to create the look of spilled ink from the quill feather pen all around the sentiment.

I then added a small banner at the top also from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies. Some black twine with a little heart that I cut out using another one of the dies from the new "Believe in Your Dreams" stamp set.

My Creative Time: 42nd Release: Sneak Peeks Day #1

Hi and welcome to day 1 of sneak peeks for the My Creative Time's 42nd Edition Release. Today we are showcasing the new fabulous stamp set "You're My Hero" along with the amazing new "Stitched Stars" dies. They blend perfectly together!! So I decided to create a wonderful star shape card combining the two!

I first created my card base using the largest star die along with Recollection's Kraft card stock. Then using washi tape, I taped down the next largest star and then used it as a template for the white gel pen stitching. I used the next size to cut out my pattern paper.

I then created the small Scallop Stitched Rosette using red Recollection's card stock to some what match the pattern paper. I then used a die from the Build A Banner Kit to create the background image for the tiny star also from the new star dies. I added glossy accents on top of the star and then sprinkled clear glitter on it to give it some sparkle.

I stamped the sentiment from the new "You Are My Hero" stamp set on to the largest banner from the Trio Stitched Banner die set.

I then tied some yellow American Crafts twine at the top and added a red sequin to the middle to complete the card.

My Creative Time: Designer's Challenge

Hi, today we have a fabulous new designer's challenge over on the My Creative Time Blog. You can find inspiration from the photo or the sketch or both. Your project must feature at least ONE My Creative Time Product.

For my card, I used more of the picture and the colors for my inspiration. I thought the colors were just gorgeous and knew I wanted to recreate them using the pretty daisies from the Love You Bunches Stamp Set. I colored each one with Copic markers and then added white gel pen accents to the end of the petals. I also added a dab of glossy accents to the flower centers and sprinkled clear glitter on top. I wanted to give them just a bit of sparkle. I stamped a few more flowers and then just colored in the stems. I cut off the stems and glued them on the card to give the look of longer stems for the higher flowers. I stamped on the sentiment also from the Love You Bunches Stamp Set onto a tag from Fun Stitched Tag dies. I then added the bow and some sequins.
