Peachy Keen Stamps: Tutorial

If you are looking for My Creative Time's Day #3 of sneak peeks please click here.

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a tutorial on how to make a homemade snow globe with your Peachy Keen Stamps.

Here is a picture of supplies needed to make the snow globe.

I first stamped and paper pieced the adorable snowman from PK-330 Snowman Doll Set. His pipe was stamped and paper pieced from PK-329 Chill Baby Chill Snowman Set. I colored the pipe, his nose, and his shoes in with Copic markers. I chalked his cheeks with Inkadinkado chalk ink. I also added a few white gel pen accents. Then I took it to my local Staples to be laminated.

Cut around your laminated image. However, you do not want to cut too close to your image. If you do, water can seep in and ruin your image.

Using super glue, make sure you have a nice and tight seal on your lid. Any tiny space will allow water to come through. You may want to give the glue a bit of time to fully dry.

Once your lid is dry, use your glue gun to add your laminated image along with any accessories to the inside of the lid. I found this tree at Hobby Lobby in the miniature section and the lamp post at the Dollar Tree. Though I ended up having to switch to a different tree since this one turned my water blue.

Fill your jar with water and leave just a bit of room at the top. Then add a bit of Glycerin to your water. This helps your glitter fall slower. You can find Glycerin in the baking section of your local craft store usually. Pour in the glitter and use a spoon to mix it up.

Now glue your lid onto the jar and you've got a homemade snow globe. You can leave the lid plain our decorate it as I did. I decorated the lid with Recollection's polka dot ribbon, My Creative Time: Snowflake die, and a silver sequin from my stash.

This is what it looked like with the blue water caused by the tree. I didn't care for it, so as I mentioned earlier, my son helped me use the same concept and switch out the tree that wouldn't die the water a different color. I found it at the Dollar Tree

Here is what is looks like all shook up!! So pretty!!

Here is another example of one I made using PK-1346 Picture Snow Day.

All the stamps used in the snow globes are Peachy Keen Stamps: October Specials!! So they are running a great sale on them along with many other fantastic Peachy Keen Stamps.
