My Creative Time: Inspire Me Wednesday

Hi, today is Inspire Me Wednesday over on the My Creative Time blog.

I found my inspiration on Pinterest of these amazing stamped wood chips by the talented Jennifer McGuire. You can find the link HERE. She is so creative and so inspirational!

When I saw her creations it gave me the idea to create some of my own using the adorable new Home Sweet Home Stamp Set along with a couple other great MCT sets.

I found small little wood chips at Hobby Lobby. I really like how they already had the rope hangers on them. They didn't have a ton of room on them for stamping but that is ok, since I just wanted to create a fun little scene on each one.

I used all of the mushroom stamps from the Home Sweet Home Stamp Set to stamp on each of the wood chips. I wish I had the amazing Prisma Colored Pencils she used but I had to make do with the Pentalic Water Color Pencils I had on hand. I then colored each one and filled the dots in with a White Gel Pen. I then stamped and paper pieced the little grass images from the same set.

Next, I masked a couple of the mushrooms to stamp on the adorable little lady bugs from the Hey There Little Lady Stamp Set. I know lady bugs are usually red but I wanted to add some color. So for this project they are yellow and blue.

The wood chip with the smaller mushrooms still had a bit of space at the top and I knew I wanted to add a butterfly some how. So I used the little butterfly from the Chunky Jar Accessories Stamp Set. This is a solid image and when I stamped it on it just didn't look right compared to the other images. So I used a Memento Tuxedo Black pen to outline the butterfly to match the other images.

I added some moss I had on hand to the bottom to really give the images some life. I finished each one by adding some Clear: Wink of Stella to the each image.

Mine may have not be as amazing as hers but I love how they turned out! I'm so grateful for her wonderful inspiration and tutorial she shared. These will be so fun to give away or to add to my plants this summer. Looking forward to creating more in the future!
