Welcome to the My Creative Time 32nd Release Blog Hop! If you have made it here from the talented Ruthie's blog then you are in the right place. If you have just stopped by or have gotten lost along the way please head on over to Emma's Blog for the full hop order.
I get the privilege of creating and sharing a project featuring the "Hey Sailor!" stamp set for the hop. So here is what I came up with!
This was my dad when he served in the Navy in the 70's. It is one of my favorite pictures of him. It didn't scan too well but it will do.
I used SVG Cutting Files for the paper frame and stamped it with the new Stripey Background Stamp. I love how it didn't come out perfectly and created a distressed look.
I then embellished it with the Anchors and Hearts Dies, Layering Heart Dies , 3 Stars Stitched Dies, and sequins. I cut a hole in the heart using the Large Tag die to linked it with the chain.
I added the sentiment from "Hey Sailor" onto a banner from Vintage Stitched Labels. I decided on this sentiment because my dad left his small town in Iowa at 17 to pursue his dreams in the Navy.
All products used:
SVG Cutting Files Frame
Recollection's and Core' Dinations Card Stock
Versamark Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Dollar Tree Sequins
White Gel Pen
